Lynn was born in Yokohoma, Japan, and has lived on both the east and west coast in the US. She grew up in a Church of God minister's home.

Lynn and her husband, Jim Golden, who works for the World Missions Accounting Center have lived in Cleveland for 14 years. She has worked in different capacities for the Church of God for 10 years. They have one son, Jonathan, who is a sophomore at Walker Valley High School.

Lynn and her family attend Heritage Fellowship Church of God in McDonald, TN.
